How to prepare for Hackathon

Grade 1-4

Theme 1 : Animation and Storytelling

Create an animated project depicting the life of any of your favorite animals/birds. Make your project interesting by adding sounds, images, etc. 

Platform: Code.org/Scratch

Theme 2:  Vacation guide

Create an animated project or an app sharing your knowledge about the last city/country you visited in 2022. The project should be a kind of guide that tells about the major attractions of that place, how to get around, the best time to visit, local delicacies to try, etc. Use your imagination to make the project exciting and unique. 

Platform used : code.org/ Scratch/ Thunkable

Grade : 5 - 8

Theme 1 : Personality Judge

You have to create an app or website to identify the personality of a person by taking input of some quiz type questions like favourite colour, profession,player etc. and then return the personality image like emoji as the result with a thank you message.

Platform : You can use any text based applications such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

Theme 2:  Healthy living

By eating right and being active, you can be healthy and achieve your dreams. Build an innovative app or a website with useful information on the importance of healthy living and various daily practices one should adopt.

Platform used : Thunkable/ MIT app inventor

Top 3 Winners from each Grade group will receive Appreciation cerficates from BIT Mesra EDC.

All partcipants submitting hackathon projects will receive Participation certicificates from BIT Mesra EDC

Winners & participants will receive scholarship on coding courses from Codingal*

Who can partcipate?

1. Grade 1-8 students.
2. Grade 8 students who have passed or have given their final examination of Grade 8 in 2023 are not eligible. 

How to register for the hackathon? 
 

1. Click the "Register & Start" button on this page.
2. Input your mobile number.
3. Enter all the necessary information in the registration form.
4. Click on the "Register for competition" button and you register for the competition.

How to submit your project?
 

1. After the completion of your project, visit this page to submit your project.
2. Click on the “Register & Start” button. Then, input your mobile number and enter the OTP received via SMS.
3. Later, click on the "Submit Project" button and fill in the below information:

• Select your Theme* 
• Project Name*  (Any name of your choice for your project)
• Development Platform* (E.g. Scratch,code.org, Thunkable, CSS/HTML etc.)
• Project Description* (Tell us something about your project)
• Project Link (Share the link of your project)
• Upload Project File (Only if applicable)
• Upload zip file of screenshots/images of the app/website (Only if applicable, and it should not be more than 50 MB)
• Upload zip file of screenshots/images of source code of the app/website (Only if applicable, and it should not be more than 50 MB)

       4. Click "Submit". You have submitted your project.
