Missing-Number Problems

Students solve missing-number problems within 10 with the gap in any position — including sentences with = first (5 = 8 − ?; 9 = 4 + ?) — using part–whole reasoning and 'what's hidden?' games. The statutory form 7 = ? − 9 (answer 16, beyond this module's range) is met at M03 L21, once bonds within 20 are secure.
